Our pastor, the Reverend Scott Elliott was born and raised in San Jose, CA. Scott met his wife Nancy
while attending San Jose City College, and the two of them went off to California State University
Stanislaus where Scott earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Drama, magna cum laude in 1979.
In 1987, Scott earned a Doctorate in Jurisprudence at the University of Oregon. After passing the
Oregon State Bar, Scott established a practice on the Oregon coast in Lincoln City, where he also ran
a very successful theatre program for youth and families which earned him a Coastal Communities
Cultural Center's Annual Award for Commitment to Excellence in the Arts.
In 2003, after sixteen years of practicing law, Scott and his family headed to Eden Theological
Seminary in St. Louis, MO where he earned a Masters of Divinity degree.
Scott and Nancy have four wonderful children and make their home in the downtown Melbourne area
where they love to walk, play at the beach and putter around the house.
Scott was hired as our assistant pastor on June 17, 2006 and began serving as our sole pastor early
in 2008. Scott is an integral and beloved member of the Riviera UCC congregation and staff.

Riviera UCC since August 2006. Shelle has been married for 14 years and has a beautiful 9 year old
daughter. Shelle received her Bachelor’s in Music Education with a choral emphasis from Florida
State University in 1991. She has worked part time in music ministry while her full time career has
been teaching choral music in the public schools. Her most recent teaching position (2001-2007) has
been as an instructor of voice at Brevard Community College. She has performed as the featured
soprano in classical works such as Mendelssohn’s Elijah and Mozart’s Requiem with full orchestra and
choir. Shelle also loves performing on the local community theatre stages as well as working with the
production teams on the Summer Fine Arts Musicals with the Brevard Public Schools.
Shelle is not only a very gifted musician, but a wonderful choir director and music teacher. She is a
blessing to our church and a much loved member of our staff.
Amy Aumick
Office Manager
Amy Aumick is the newest member of RUCC's staff. Amy's background in the performing arts and her
experience working with local non-profits and charities has made her an invaluable addition to our
church family. Not only does she handle all of the reception and front desk duties, Amy also rolls up
her sleeves and digs into whatever project we can think up for her, and we can think up a lot! Whether
it's maintaining this website, reading stories during worship services, coming up with creative copy, or
co-ordinating volunteers, she is there to do it with a smile.
Amy transplanted from Michigan to Florida in 1994, and has been a resident of Brevard since 2003.
She loves the ocean, reading, writing, dancing and watching live music.
Margaret Rogers
Parish Nurse
Margaret Rogers, RN is one of those “rare birds,” “NATIVE FLORIDIAN”, born in Lake Swan, Fl. in the
last century before mosquito control and air conditioning.
In 1948, she obtained her Registered Nurse degree from the Baptist Hospital in Atlanta Georgia. For a
year, she waited for her West Point Cadet to become a 2nd Lt. and married him in June of 1949.
During the year prior to marriage, she worked with patients in the Polio Epidemic.
Moving around the world with her Army husband, Margaret had the opportunity to nurse in some
interesting places. Nursing on the Mexican Border, she delivered their children, whose mothers had
come across the Rio Grande so their children would be US Citizens. As an operating room nurse, she
assisted in the early days of “open heart surgery” and also with the first ”hip replacement“ in the US.
After launching 2 sons and a daughter, Margaret and David retired to a sailboat where they spent the
next 10 years, on and off, sailing in the Islands and the Intercoastal Waterway.
One day, while sailing down the Delaware Bay, Margaret decided she was tired of this vagabond life
and they returned to Florida, where she took a refresher course in nursing. Her husband claimed she
jumped ship because she found out about microwave ovens. She returned to Nursing and was a
Pioneer in the Hospice Movement, helping to establish Wuesthoff Brevard Hospice. When she met a
young Chaplain, The Reverend Alicia Rapp, she learned about the United Church of Christ and
followed her into the fellowship when Alicia was called as Pastor of this church.
Margaret has been the Parish Nurse for 3 years. Her loves are her husband, children, four
grandchildren, and the United Church of Christ. Her hobbies are music, traveling, and occasionally
sailing.
Ann Nade
Parish Nurse
In 1964, she obtained her RN from St Francis Hospital in La Crosse. She seems to like going to school
accumulating a BSW in social work and a BSN and MSN in nursing. Her career started in the hospital
but she soon found home health and community nursing were her passion.
Moving around the big cities of the Midwest with her husband and 2 young children, she changed her
career goals to meet family needs. First she worked in a pysch and then in chemical dependency. She
often says she learned more than she gave. The tools she learned were valuable in raising teenage
children and dealing with life.
On their last move to Elizabethtown KY the only suitable job she could find was teaching in a associate
degree nursing program. This broaden her knowledge on different medical conditions and taught her
how hard teaching can be. After Heart bypass surgery she was forced in retirement in 2000.
Ann and her husband Jeff moved to Florida in 2003. She attended a class at RivieraUCC loved the
people and accepted their invitation to come to church. It didn't take Ann long to become hooked on
the church and she has been a member since 2005.
Ann has been the Parish Nurse for 1 year. Her loves are her family , Snickers (the dog) the people of
the United Church of Christ, travel and redecorating.
