Meet our Pastor

Reverend Day Broers (brewers) was born and raised in Illinois, where she was steeped in Disciples culture from an early age. Her grandfather, an inspiration and a huge well of support during her call, was also a widely respected Disciples minister.
She earned her Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education from the University of Illinois before moving to Florida. She went on to earn her Master’s in Educational Leadership from the University of Central Florida.
She first sensed a call to ministry in 1994, and with the blessing and support of her family, she left Florida behind to attend Lexington Theological Seminary in Lexington, Kentucky. During her second year of seminary, Rev. Day became quite homesick for Florida and asked the Holy to allow her to return to Florida after she completed her education.
God answered her prayers, and she was called to serve at Fort Myers Christian Church. She was subsequently called to serve as Senior Minister at Brandon Christian Church in the Tampa Bay area. Rev. Day would serve Brandon for 17 years, the longest-tenured Senior Minister in the history of the church.
We are incredibly blessed to have her with us. Rev. Day’s view of the Scriptures is that when properly read, they offer a blessing for everyone. As such, she typically offers dynamic sermons that leave an impression on us while also leaving us feeling blessed and grateful for the hearing of the Word of the Divine.
