Psalms 100:1-2  Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness and come before God’s presence with singing!

Music is a gift from God, and each of us offers our music to God in thanksgiving and praise. Music speaks to the soul and uplifts the spirit. It deepens our worship experience and helps us express ours thanks, joy, and praise.

Chancel Choir

The Chancel Choir is an all-volunteer adult singing group under the leadership of Music Director Mariana Garciagodoy. The choir helps lead the singing during Sunday worship services for most of the year, starting on “Rally Day” at the end of August and ending on Pentecost, which varies from the end of May to the beginning of June.  The choir helps lead the congregation on various hymns and songs, and often prepares a special piece to share with the congregation as well.

The choir also takes part in the presentation of special expanded music programs for Christmas and Easter.  Those who feel they can’t make the commitment to sing with the choir year ’round, but would still like to share their talents, might consider joining the choir just for these special occasions.

Anyone interested in helping us “make a joyful noise” is invited to join.  No experience is necessary, and you don’t even have to be able to read music!  The only requirements are a love of singing and a willingness to commit the necessary time.  Practice is held Wednesday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The choir gathers at 9:15 a.m. on Sunday mornings for a warm-up rehearsal prior to the 10:00 a.m. service.
